Contracting of FPSO for Sepia field

19/10/2017

Petrobras informs that on October 13, 2017 it signed a contract with Modec Group to charter a FPSO platform (a unit that produces, stores and transfers oil and gas) to be used in the Sepia field development project, derived from the Transfer of Rights Agreement, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The project considers the interconnection of up to 15 wells to the platform, and the start of production is planned for 2021.

The FPSO will be installed at about 250 km from the Brazilian coast, at a water depth of 2,140 meters and can process up to 180,000 bpd of oil and 6 million m3/dia of natural gas. The unit will be operated by the company responsible for the construction and chartered for up to 21 years.

The platform will have part of its construction carried out in Brazil, aligned with Petrobras’ experience with other charters already performed.
