02 Mar 2020 Spirit Energy has signed an agreement to divest two non-core Danish assets to INEOS. The divestment is through a sale of Spirit’s two companies with licenses in Denmark. The two companies jointly own 40% in the Hejre discovery and 27.7% in the Solsort discovery. The transaction is subject to approval from the relevant authorities and is expected to close later this year. Dag Omre, Executive Vice President of Spirit Energy Norway & Denmark, said: “In line with our strategy of managing our portfolio, we evaluated these opportunities and concluded that they are no longer core to Spirit Energy. “We look forward to working closely with INEOS in the coming months to conclude the transaction, as well as focusing on our portfolio of assets, developments and exploration opportunities across North-West Europe.”

07 Jan 2021 Final preparations for Spirit Energy’s DP3 and DP4 installations to be lifted from the East Irish Sea are underway, and the two 11,000-tonne platforms will be removed by Allseas’ Pioneering Spirit. The infrastructure used to produce gas as part of Spirit Energy’s complex of eight installations in Morecambe Bay . As the field has matured, the reserves the platforms previously tapped into have been produced by the larger, manned Central Morecambe platform nearby. The 12 wells which were connected to the DP3 and DP4 platforms have already been plugged and abandoned – using a slant rig to accommodate the angle at which the wells were drilled in the 1980s to access the gas reservoir below the seabed – and the platforms will soon be safe to be lifted and taken back to shore. Allseas’ 382-metre Pioneering Spirit will lift both the DP3 and DP4 platforms – well within its limits of lifting 48,000-tonne topsides. 30th August 2021 A decommissioning programme will be submitted for the Chestnut field in the Central North Sea, more than a decade after it was first expected to be shut in. Thanks to continued investment from operator Spirit Energy and partner Dana Petroleum, additional wells and class leading production efficiency on the Hummingbird Spirit Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel which sits on Chestnut, the field has produced almost quadruple the initial reserve estimates. Now, Spirit Energy and the FPSO owner Teekay have started the first stages of preparing to decommission the field. Chestnut – which first came on stream in 2008 with an expected two-year production life – is still producing oil via three wells, the last of which was drilled in 2020. The commissioning of the gas pipeline coincided with the first day of the new gas year and the start of the heating season. The first quantities of natural gas through the interconnector were transited at the beginning of the gas day from the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) . IGB successfully connects the national gas transmission networks of Greece and Bulgaria at Komotini and Stara Zagora. Excelerate Energy L.P. (Excelerate) today announced that on December 8, 2021 it started natural gas deliveries to the Brazilian market at the Bahia Regasification Terminal (TR-BA) in Salvador, Bahia. Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Excelerate Sequoia, which has an LNG storage capacity of 173,400 cubic meters, is providing regasification services at TR-BA. The terminal has a regasification capacity of up to 700 million cubic feet per day. Excelerate and Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) signed the lease contract for TR-BA on September 28, following a competitive international tender process. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Excelerate Energy Comercializadora de Gás Natural Ltda., Excelerate expects to sell natural gas to a diverse portfolio of customers in this newly opened market. 18th October 2022 px Group, the operator of several critical energy infrastructure sites in the UK and Europe, can today announce that it has been awarded a long-term multi-year contract to operate the SEAL pipeline , a critical component of the UK energy supply and energy security. The contract was awarded to Energy24, a px Group business, by TotalEnergies E&P UK Limited, and px Group began taking on operations on August 1st 2022. The pipeline is 474km long with a diameter of 34 inches and has been operational for more than 20 years. The SEAL pipeline transports sales quality gas from the Elgin Franklin platform in the Central Graben Area of the North Sea to the dedicated SEAL module at the Bacton gas terminal on the Norfolk coast.
