Uzbekneftegaz selects Axens’ advanced technologies for production of Euro V gasoline at Bukhara refinery

Axens has been awarded by Uzbekneftegaz, the Uzbekistan’s state-owned oil and gas company, a Basic Engineering and License contract for the modernization project of Bukhara Oil Refinery. The target of this project is to enable the production of Euro 5 gasoline in compliance with the highest international standards.

As a major licensor in the refining field, Axens has long-standing partnership with Uzbekneftegaz, accompanying Bukhara Oil Refinery with technical services and catalyst supply for the optimum operation of the plants since the first process units licensed by Axens’ were put in operation in 1997.

As part of the project, Axens is providing the best-in-class process technologies coming from continuous research and development for the Naphtha Hydrotreating, C5/C6 Isomerization and 2-Stage PyGas Hydrogenation units. Together with the existing Naphtha Hydrotreater and CCR-Reforming Units originally licensed by Axens, these five units of the gasoline block will enable the production of 1.10 million tons per year of a blend of RON 92 and RON 95 Euro-5 gasoline for the domestic market. The valorization of the by-product and the production of cleaner fuels using a reduced CO2 emission scheme will enable lowering the environmental impact of Bukhara refinery.

Centrica LNG cargo commissions the first private LNG terminal in Brazil

25 February 2020 Centrica plc and Centrais Elétricas de Sergipe S.A. (CELSE) have collaborated to commission the first private Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal in Brazil. On 4 February, Centrica-chartered vessel, the Singapore Energy, delivered 95,000m3 of LNG by a ship-to-ship operation to the Golar Nanook Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) located 8.5km off the coast. The FRSU is connected by pipeline to CELSE’s Usina Termoelétrica (UTE) Porto de Sergipe I combined-cycle gas-fired power plant, the largest in Latin America.

Saipem: new contract awarded by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the Shah Gas plant in the United Arab Emirates

June 15, 2021 Saipem has received a Letter of Award from ADNOC Sour Gas, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), for a new contract related to the Optimum Shah Gas Expansion (OSGE) & Gas Gathering project in the United Arab Emirates. The contract covers the expansion and upgrade of the existing Shah gas plant . The overall value of the contract is around 510 million USD. The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract includes the engineering, supply of materials, construction and commissioning of additional components, designed to increase the gas treatment daily capacity of the Shah Gas plant by 13%, from the current production capacity of 1.28 to 1.45 billion standard cubic feet per day, representing a cumulative increase to 145% of the original design capacity of the plant.
