June 20, 2024 TotalEnergies, operator of OML 58 onshore license in Nigeria with a 40% interest, together with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NNPCL, 60%), have taken the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the development of the Ubeta gas field . Located about 80 km northwest of Port Harcourt in Rivers state, the OML 58 license contains two fields currently in production, the Obagi oil field and the Ibewa gas and condensate field. OML58 gas production is processed in the Obite treatment center and supplied to both the Nigerian domestic gas market and to Nigeria LNG (NLNG) plant. Also located in OML58, the Ubeta gas condensate field will be developed with a new 6-well cluster connected to the existing Obite facilities through a 11 km buried pipeline. Production start-up is expected in 2027, with a plateau of 300 million cubic feet per day (about 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day including condensates). 2 October 2025 Eni and its partners CNPC, ENH, Kogas, and XRG have reached the Final Investment Decision (FID) to develop the Coral North FLNG project , deepwater offshore Cabo Delgado, north of Mozambique. The signing took place in Maputo today, at the presence of the President of Mozambique Daniel Francisco Chapo, and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi. The project will put in production the gas volumes from the northern part of Area’s 4 Coral gas reservoir, in the Rovuma basin, through a state-of-the-art floating LNG facility. Jun. 08, 2026 JGC Holdings Corporation today announced that its group company, JGC France S.A.S., in partnership with Technip Energies France S.A.S. and Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. of South Korea, has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) services for a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project offshore Mozambique developed by Eni and its Partners CNPC, ENH, XRG, and KOGAS. 2 May 2025 Harbour and its partners – Pan American Energy, YPF, Pampa Energia and Golar LNG – have taken Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Southern Energy floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) export project in Argentina.  Harbour has a 15% interest in the project which envisages deploying two of Golar LNG’s FLNG vessels – the Hilli Episeyo and MK II – off the coast of the Rio Negro province. The project is expected to have processing and export capacity of c.6 million tonnes per year of LNG, equivalent to 27 million cubic metres per day (or 1.0 billion cubic feet per day) of natural gas.  The Southern Energy partners are targeting production start-up from the Hili Episeyo around year-end 2027 with the MK II expected to commence operations end 2028. Oct. 29, 2015  Venari Resources LLC, a deepwater oil exploration and production company in the Gulf of Mexico, announced today successful results from the initial appraisal at its Anchor discovery previously announced in January 2015. The Anchor-2 discovery well, which spud in 2014, is located in 5,180 feet of water in Green Canyon Block 807, approximately 140 miles off the coast of Louisiana. The discovery well was drilled to a depth of 33,750 feet and encountered 690 feet of net oil pay in multiple Lower Tertiary Wilcox sands. The Anchor-2 sidetrack#1 well was drilled down dip to delineate the discovery and confirmed the hydrocarbon accumulation found in the discovery well. The appraisal well encountered 694 feet of net oil pay, a hydrocarbon column of at least 1,800 feet in the Lower Tertiary Wilcox reservoirs and indicated the reservoirs are well developed. 23 October 2014 BP today announced an oil discovery at the Guadalupe prospect in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico. The discovery well, on Keathley Canyon Block 10, was drilled by operator Chevron on behalf of the Guadalupe co-owners. The well encountered significant oil pay in Paleogene age Wilcox Sands. Located approximately 180 miles off the Louisiana coast in 3,992 feet of water, the well was drilled to a total depth of 30,173 feet. More tests are being conducted on the well and additional appraisal activity will be needed to determine the extent of the resource. The Guadalupe co-owners are: BP Exploration & Production Inc, with a 42.5 percent working interest; Chevron USA Inc. (operator), 42.5 percent; and Venari Resources LLC, 15 percent. 29 September 2025 bp has reached a final investment decision on the Tiber-Guadalupe project in the Gulf of America, approving its second new production platform in less than two years in the critical US offshore region and further underscoring the significance of the US Gulf to its global strategy. The 100% bp-owned Tiber-Guadalupe will be bp’s seventh operated oil and gas production hub in the Gulf of America, featuring a new floating production platform with the capacity to produce 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
